About Me
Welcome! I'm Clare (she/her), a Registered Social Worker offering virtual psychotherapy to adults across Ontario.
After years working in an acute care hospital across oncology, dementia and age-related illness, chronic illness, and end-of-life care, I noticed a pattern: the people holding everyone else together were often the ones most in need of support themselves. I saw how a serious diagnosis or caregiving role could quietly unravel someone's sense of self, and I bring that experience to my private practice, supporting adults through burnout, grief, life transitions, relationship challenges, and whatever else life puts in your path.
I hold a Master of Social Work from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Adult Development from the University of Guelph, a combination that has deeply shaped how I understand people across the lifespan. I am in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) and a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW).
I draw on psychotherapy, motivational interviewing, and attachment-based approaches depending on what you're working through. For someone navigating burnout, that might look like identifying patterns that are keeping you stuck and building sustainable boundaries. For someone processing grief or a difficult diagnosis, it might look like making space for what you're carrying and finding a way through it at your own pace. Whatever brings you here, the work is shaped around you.
Clients I have worked with include caregivers supporting aging or ill family members, adults navigating a cancer diagnosis or other serious illness, and people going through some of life's harder chapters. If you're not sure whether we'd be a good fit, the free consultation is a great place to start.
Asking for help can feel vulnerable, especially when you're used to being the one others lean on. I offer a space where you can show up exactly as you are.
We'll work together at a pace that feels right for you. I'll follow your lead, and we'll shape the work around what matters most to you.
I draw on approaches that are grounded in research and adapted to your real life, not a one-size-fits-all framework.
Life is busy enough. Virtual sessions mean you can access support from wherever works for you. No commute, no waiting room.
Services
If something has been weighing on you, whether it's been building for years or hit you all at once, you're in the right place.
When you're responsible for so much, anxiety can feel like your brain's way of trying to keep up. Therapy can help you slow down the noise, regulate your nervous system, and build a steadier sense of calm.
Low mood, loss of motivation, feeling disconnected from the things and people you love, it can creep up slowly or hit all at once. Together we'll explore what's underneath and work toward feeling like yourself again.
Grief doesn't only come with death. It can follow a diagnosis, a relationship ending, a job lost, or a life that looks different than you imagined. Whatever you're mourning, your loss is valid and deserves space.
A major life event, a career change, the end of a relationship, or simply a sense that life looks different than you planned, transitions can shake your sense of identity. Therapy can help you find solid ground and figure out what comes next.
Stress and exhaustion have a way of spilling into our closest relationships. Whether you're navigating resentment, disconnection, or simply feeling like you have nothing left to give, therapy can help you reconnect with the people who matter most.
Saying no can feel impossible when everyone is counting on you. Therapy can help you identify your limits, communicate them clearly, and ease the guilt that comes with putting yourself first.
When you've been giving so much of yourself for so long, your capacity to feel and connect can start to wear thin. This isn't a character flaw - it's a real form of exhaustion.
Burnout is more than exhaustion - it's what happens when you've been giving more than you've been getting for too long. Together we'll untangle what's depleting you and build a sustainable path forward.
A relaxed 15-minute call to get acquainted. You can ask questions, share what's been going on, and get a feel for whether we're a good fit. No pressure, no obligation.
We'll take it slow. You share what feels comfortable, and together we'll start to make sense of what's brought you here and what you're hoping for.
50-minute virtual sessions, usually weekly or bi-weekly. We'll work at a pace that feels right for you, there's no rushing here.
Over time, things start to shift. We'll check in regularly on your progress, and when you're ready to wrap up, we'll do that thoughtfully too.
You don't need to be in crisis to deserve support. Sometimes you just need a space that's fully, genuinely yours.

FAQ
Sessions are held via a secure, PHIPA-compliant video platform. You'll need a private space, a device with a camera and microphone, and a stable internet connection. I'll send you a link prior to each session.
The length of therapy depends on your goals and what you're working through. Some people notice meaningful progress within a few months; others find value in continuing longer. We'll check in regularly and adjust as needed.
Yes. Confidentiality is foundational to the therapeutic relationship. What you share remains private, with a few legal exceptions. I'll review these with you clearly in our first session.
The free 15-minute consultation is an opportunity to connect, ask questions, and get a sense of whether working together feels right. There is no pressure or commitment involved.
Yes. Stress, burnout, and exhaustion are among the most common reasons people seek therapy. Therapy offers dedicated space to understand what's driving how you're feeling and start to recover.
Both are qualified to provide therapy, though the training differs. Psychologists hold a doctoral degree and are licensed to diagnose mental health conditions. As a Registered Social Worker providing psychotherapy, my training spans mental health, psychotherapy, and the broader social and environmental factors that shape wellbeing. RSW services are frequently covered under extended health benefits. Check your plan under "Social Worker", "RSW", or "Psychotherapy."
